Stripe Integration with Shireburn Business Suite – How to Connect Stripe with Shireburn Business Suite?

The Rise of the Creator Economy

The creator economy is booming — and it goes far beyond e-books and online courses. Connecting Stripe with Shireburn Business Suite bridges this gap perfectly.

Invoice Requirements in Malta

Maltese VAT legislation (VAT Act, Chapter 406 of the Laws of Malta) and the guidelines issued by the Office of the Commissioner for Revenue set out the following mandatory invoice elements:

- Full name and address of the supplier and the customer
- VAT registration number of the supplier (format MT + 8 digits)
- VAT number of the customer for B2B transactions within the EU
- Date of issue and sequential, unique invoice number
- Date of supply of goods or services if different from the invoice date
- Detailed description of each good or service supplied
- Quantity and unit price excluding VAT
- Applicable VAT rate(s): 18% (standard), 7% (reduced), 5% (reduced) or 0%
- Total VAT amount broken down by rate
- Total amount excluding VAT and including VAT
- Reference to exemption provisions where applicable

Invoices must be retained for a minimum of ten years. The numbering must be sequential and unbroken.

E-Invoicing in Malta: PEPPOL (Planned)

Malta has not yet introduced mandatory B2B e-invoicing. However, in line with EU Directive 2014/55, Malta is in the process of implementing e-invoicing for Business-to-Government (B2G) transactions via the PEPPOL network. The Office of the Commissioner for Revenue currently accepts e-invoices on a voluntary basis.

Malta will follow the EU's ViDA (VAT in the Digital Age) directive, which plans to introduce mandatory B2B e-invoicing across all EU member states progressively. Businesses in Malta should prepare for this transition in the coming years.

Shireburn, as Malta's leading business software provider, is well positioned to support e-invoicing compliance as requirements evolve. Check shireburn.com for the latest updates on PEPPOL and e-invoicing support.
